About Us

By way of introduction, I began working with pregnant women over 40 years ago and in 1985 established Adoption Services, a full service, non-profit child adoption agency that is licensed in multiple states.  Adoption Services and is able to help a birth mother, birth father, and adopting family living in any state in the U.S. or living in any foreign country.

Each of the almost 1000 adoptive placements in which my staff and I have assisted have involved the laws of the birth parents' state(s) of residence, the laws of the adopting persons home state and interstate law.  I found that every state has its own unique adoption law.

As a Ph.D. psychologist with additional special  training in psychology and the law, I have always tried to educate myself about the adoption laws involved in each adoptive placement.  In so doing, I discovered that even finding the law itself was a frustrating task.  As a result of my frustration, I tracked down the adoption laws of every state and put them in one place (this website) for myself, you, and for anyone else who needs and/or wants to know of the laws involved.
